About Clarence
A native Memphian, graduated from Memphis Central High School, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on Secondary Education.
During his matriculation at UTC, Clarence joined the Lambda Iota Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. After undergraduate studies, Clarence returned home to Memphis as an Executive Assistant at Health Tech Institute of Memphis; prior to accepting a position on the administrative staff with the New Mothers’ Study, a longitudinal research study through the University of Rochester, School of Nursing.
Clarence, Founder and Chief Horticulturist of Meliora Landscapes, LLC, manages Memphis’ premier landscape contractor company, focusing on complete horticultural and vegetation management. MLL is a boutique landscape firm offering specialty services in both softscapes and hardscapes as well as floriculture.
At Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. James H. Joyner, Jr., Clarence was a faithful servant, ordained as a Deacon, served as the Financial Secretary, and eventually Finance Chairman.
Indeed, a true, “Kappa Man,” proud Memphian, devoted husband and father, Clarence is married to Darnesha S. Taylor and they have four children: Clarence “Tre”, Cayman, Chloe, and Cole; and two dogs: Coco Chanel and Angel.
